Alpine is seeking energetic individuals for a range of casual positions. Applicants will be motivated, enthusiastic team players with great customer service skills, willing to work in a range of roles as part of our popular entertainment centre. Hours are variable and on a rostered basis; predominantly weekends and evenings as part of both ‘public ice skating sessions’ and sport bookings (ie ice hockey). Roles are varied and ideal applicants will be willing to work in a combination of the roles listed below. On the job training will be provided with continued opportunity to up-skill within the business.

Who is Alpine Ice?

Alpine is a well-established family-owned ice-skating centre. We provide entertainment and sports activities in Christchurch with a proud history spanning nearly 40 years. 
Ice skating is physical and fun, so our brand of entertainment is healthy and great for the community! Alpine has a loyal team of staff from varying backgrounds, some of whom have been involved with the business since the beginning.

What’s involved?

Leading our team in shift settings, encouraging staff to contribute new ideas and experiences for our customers
Contributing as a member of the crew in other parts of the role. This position is split between leading, and contributing as a member of the team. 
Positive engagement with customers and co-workers, promoting our unique activities, services and ice sports!
Hosting events and functions, including some minor administration tasks in all areas.
Operating our ice resurfacer (Zamboni/Olympia) between ice time clients.

What we are looking for

  • An individual who brings their unique personality to work every day!
  • Proven experience in a similar industry or role preferred (minimum 1 year supervision and cash handling experience required).
  • Current first aid certificate preferred
  • Barista and/or food and beverage experience
  • LCQ training and/or Bar Managers certificate preferred
     

Casual Positions with Alpine:

Ticketing/Cafe
Cash handling experience required, barista experience preferred

On-Ice/Skate Hire assistant
Competent ice skating skills, valid first aid certificate preferred

DJ - Session Host
Someone who loves to be the centre of attention! Ideally computer competent, public speaking skills a must!
